Facebook is about Face! Facebook removes 5 lèse majesté posts at Dictator request

Well, what do you expect from Facebook, since the social network, is called Face Book, so here, Face Book is helping some people keep their face with the public.

Prachathi reports (Souce) that Facebook removes 5 lèse majesté posts at Thai govt’s request. Facebook on Wednesday revealed that it had restricted access to five pieces of content at the request of the Thai authorities on the grounds of lèse majesté between January and June 2014.

Prachatai reporter Facebook saying, quote: “We restricted access in Thailand to a number of pieces of content reported by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology under local laws prohibiting criticism of the King.”

According to the report, the Thai government submitted a request to Facebook for data on one user, but the social network company did not comply with this request.  Facebook added in its report that it only responds to valid requests relating to criminal cases and that each and every request must have solid legal grounds.
